Bike, car or foot: you’re gonna want to explore

 In Beaches, holidays

When you travel somewhere, do you like to get off the beaten path and go look for something nobody else has seen before?

It might surprise you to learn that Parksville Qualicum Beach is that kind of destination.

The calm east coast of Vancouver Island boasts an incredible abundance of natural wonder, from ancient caves and adventurous hikes, to countless provincial parks and endless sandy beaches, all surrounding quaint timeless towns.

If you’re on foot, Ocean Trails is perched overlooking the world class Rathtrevor Beach: half a dozen kilometres of silky sands that can stretch out as far as 1000 metres off shore. Rathtrevor Provincial Park is beautiful and features a network of trails one could wander for days (don’t worry, proper signs are in place to help you avoid getting lost!)

Of course, if you have a bicycle then the whole region opens up to you: Englishman River Falls, Little Qualicum Falls, Cathedral Grove, Cameron Lake, Parksville Beach (sandcastles!), and Qualicum Beach…

You’re never far from a natural wonder. The only choice you have to make is whether to travel by bike, car, or on foot.
