Are you prepared for a festive 2016? Parksville and Qualicum Beach may be known for being quaint, quiet, and relaxing retirement towns – but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to throw fantastic events!

Key events on our annual radar include the Fire and Ice Street Festival, the Parksville Beach Festival, the Coombs County Fair, and one of our personal favourites, P-ART-Y on the Drive.

Fire and Ice combines fire (in the form of a chili cookout) with an ice sculpture carving competition each May, and takes over the downtown streets of Qualicum Beach. You don’t have to be a chili fan to enjoy this amazing event, as the incredible ice sculptures make it worth the trip.

The Parksville Beach Festival and Coombs Fair are two of the highlights of August, with everything from fireworks and sandcastles to celebrating Coombs agriculture with the 103rd(!) Coombs County Fair. Both are huge family events and a lot of fun.

And finally, P-ART-Y on the Drive takes over Resort Drive just outside Ocean Trails Resort each September, and celebrates our amazing local artisans. Music, food, shopping – it has it all, and it gets us excited every year.
